About Fluid Conservation Systems

Fluid Conservation Systems Inc. (FCS) is the North American industry leader in water leak detection technology. The company supplies highly sophisticated leak detection products. These include correlators that are used to pinpoint the position leaks in underground water mains, leak noise loggers to localise the general area of a leak, pressure controllers to minimize leakage and flow/pressure loggers to monitor water supply networks.  Together with ground microphones for leak surveys and leak position confirmation, this makes up a complete set of equipment for virtually all leak detection and pressure management needs.

By implementing a thorough water system survey program using FCS equipment, water utilities all across the US have been able to save time and money by:

  • Reducing and recovering lost, unaccounted for water due to system leakage.
  • Eliminating added costs from digging "dry holes" when searching for leaks.
  • Minimizing the threat of litigation resulting from catastrophic system failures.
  • Reducing man-hour expenses through localizing and pinpointing leaks more productively by using state-of-the-art technology.

Established in 1978, the company relocated from its Austin, Texas roots to Milford, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati) in 1994. The move was precipitated by the acquisition of FCS by Halma Holdings Inc., based in Sharonville, Ohio.

Additionally, the relocation was driven by the desire to be closer to the higher density, northern customer base. Halma Holding owns a number of U.S. based companies, comprising of more than 650 employees. FCS has become one of the larger subsidiaries due to the increasing market awareness and demand for conservation of our world's water supply.

Total Solutions:

FCS products are installed with over 1000 utilities throughout the United States and the world. The TriCorr TM 2001 correlator is considered the product of choice by most professional leak detection firms and consultants, particularly in North America. FCS staff pride themselves on customer support, service and responsiveness. Typical turnaround for product repair and/or maintenance is only two (2) days.

FCS was the first organization to patent leak correlation technology in the United States on April 11, 1978. Since that time, four generations of correlators have evolved leading to the AccuCorr 3000 correlator - the very latest product available in 2002. Ongoing Research & Development, field application, field testing and extensive customer feedback has resulted in dramatic performance improvements since the initial patent.

Quality Assurance:

The company operates a quality system and is committed to the highest standards, to ensure customer satisfaction. Products are designed "fit for purpose" - rugged and robust for intensive field use.

Innovation:

FCS sells and supports the worlds most advanced, accurate and easy-to-use leak detection equipment. The company sells its own manufactured equipment and that developed by Palmer Environmental who developed the world's first leak noise correlator and the worlds first portable leak noise correlator.

A high proportion of turnover is ploughed back into Research and Development to provide new and effective solutions for all customers.
